Armijo Bath
Bathroom Cabinetry in the South Valley, Albuquerque, NM
Handcrafted Vanity
This is a small bathroom - 9 feet by 6 feet - and we approached it with the goal of transforming into as elegant and usable a space as possible. We started with the vanity knowing it was the most complicated piece and that its detailing would set the tone for the rest of the cabinetry. We curved the front of the cabinet, angling the drawer fronts and making the side against the toilet 1 ½ narrower than the side against the wall to help ease you into the room and keep the vanity from being overpowering.
We used hard maple for the majority of the cabinetry and some beautiful curly big life maple for the panels. The door pull, hooks, towel rack and other details are black walnut
The countertop of the vanity is concrete that we poured on site so it integrates seamlessly with the plaster walls
Custom Wooden Medicine Cabinet
We designed the medicine cabinet to rhyme with the vanity below it while staying subtle. The focus on the outside of the cabinet is on the mirror itself to make it a pleasure to use, while the inside is dominated by the same stunning big leaf maple that the panels on the vanity are made out of. A single thick hard maple shelf floats off the side of the cabinet extending it visually across the wall while leaving quite a bit of open space for the beautiful light in the room to cascade across
Shop Carved Bathroom FIxtures
The client was enamored with the wooden handles we made for the vanity and wanted to extend the look across the whole room. Taking that design as a starting point, we developed a towel bar, some wall hooks, and a toilet roll holder to complement them that we mounted around the room. Those are the kind of details we love - little things that are not only useful but that give an elegance and completeness to the project, transforming the space with a magic all its own
